River of Joy - Prayer for 12/19/22

Every day of the advent season, I will remember to do at least one thing that creates joy in myself and/or in another. I will be conscious in that moment of the “river of joy” that I am a part of creating.

I will actively participate in the power of that river. Just like water, joy expressed consciously over time will break through any earthly walls in its path. It will smooth the stones of grief from everyday hurts and struggles, revealing their beauty, softening their impact. The conditions that seem to create darkness and despair are no match for my joy.

Today I allow myself to be swept up in the power of joy.
